DN4SK
DN4SK is my training callsign. It lets people interested in radio get on the air themselves even without their own licence - under my supervision as a licensed radio amateur.
What is a training callsign?
The easiest way to try amateur radio hands-on - even before your own exam.
In Germany a training callsign (a callsign with the DN prefix) lets people without their own amateur radio licence carry out real on-air operating under the guidance and supervision of a licensed radio amateur. It's a way to experience amateur radio before taking the exam - and that is often exactly where the enthusiasm for the hobby begins. Operating always takes place in the presence and under the responsibility of the callsign holder.
- No licence of your own needed. Ideal for getting a first taste of amateur radio.
- Operating under supervision. As the holder I am present and take responsibility.
- Real contacts. From your first QSO on shortwave or 2 m/70 cm to digital modes.
- On the way to your own licence. Gain practice alongside preparing for the exam.
